Frequently asked questions

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is much more than massage and covers a diverse array of treatment methods to reduce pain and restore function. At Milton Keynes Physiotherapy, our therapists are experts in identifying your problems and use a variety of expert techniques to rehabilitate you back to full health. We also believe that prevention is just as important as cure, and offer specialised advice to help you manage and maintain optimal health and fitness.

What conditions are treated?

At Milton Keynes Physiotherapy we specialise in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy - that is, any problem from your head to your toes. Whether you suffer from headaches or have experienced a sports injury, we have the knowledge and skills to provide you with rapid solutions. We are also experts in treating long-term problems such as arthritis, and can work with you to restore your confidence and general function. If you have any queries at all about how physiotherapy may benefit your problem, please do not hesitate in contacting us. If all you need is some advice about your problem, we can give this over the phone so please give us a call.

Do I have to be referred?

There are many ways that you may seek Physiotherapy treatment. You may be referred by your GP however this is not necessary. The quickest and easiest way is to refer yourself! Just pick up the phone and contact the team and we shall ensure that you are seen as quickly as possible, at a time that is convenient to you. We are open throughout the whole week and home visits may also be discussed if appropriate. For further information, please contact the team direct.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the type of problem and its duration and will be discussed at your initial assessment. Here at Milton Keynes Physiotherapy we firmly believe that if your symptoms do not show any signs of improvement within three to four sessions, your management plan will need to be reassessed. We strongly uphold ethical and professional practice and do not believe in continuing with treatment unless it is benefiting you! If you feel that you need further investigations, we will also do our best to refer you to an appropriate specialist within the area.

What shall I Wear?

During your initial assessment, the Physiotherapist will need to examine areas of your body adjacent to the problem area to ensure that nothing is missed that could be important. We ask you to dress appropriately.

For any other questions you may have, please contact the team and we will do our best to help.
